Avrupa&#8217;da sanat e\u011fitimi alm\u0131\u015f ve 1920&#8217;lerde birka\u00e7 kez Paris&#8217;e giderek d\u00f6nemin pop\u00fcler ak\u0131m\u0131 olan Empresyonizm (\u0130zlenimcilik) \u00fczerine \u00e7al\u0131\u015fm\u0131\u015f olmas\u0131na ra\u011fmen, daha sonra bu Avrupa merkezli esteti\u011fi tamamen reddetmi\u015ftir. Ekonomik \u00e7\u00f6k\u00fc\u015f, i\u015fsizlik ve kurakl\u0131k (Dust Bowl) gibi felaketlerin ya\u015fand\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu d\u00f6nemde sanat\u00e7\u0131lar, karma\u015f\u0131k ve soyut Avrupa ak\u0131mlar\u0131ndan uzakla\u015farak daha tan\u0131d\u0131k, g\u00fcven verici ve yerel temalara y\u00f6nelmi\u015flerdir.
